On October 1st at 6 PM, the Germany Nigeria Film Week opens at the Arsenal Cinema with a Fire Side Chat with Ali Nuhu, Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Cooperation Nigerian Film Corporation and very well known in Nigeria as an actor and filmmaker. The opening film THE CHRONICLE OF AFROBEATS (2026) follows and a episode of the famous 80s TV series COCK CROW AT DAWN.
The 2022-founded association Sonnenkindfilm SONNENKINDFILM produces films and supports a film culture that connects transnational perspectives and experiences across generations. From October 1st to 10th, Sonnenkindfilm presents the Germany-Nigeria Film Week, which will be held in the cities of Hannover, Bremen, and Hamburg and will open in Nigeria on Independence Day in Berlin.
The documentary film THE CHRONICLE OF AFROBEATS (2026) is part of a documentary series by Grammy-nominated music manager Bankulli (Abisagboola Oluseun John). In conversations with artists, producers, and music managers, the series explores people, sounds, and pivotal moments that have shaped Afrobeats and its growing international influence. The finale features an episode of the famous 80s TV series COCK CROW AT DAWN, which has been found in the National Film and Sound Archive.
