Family Calls for Flat to Be Professionally Cleaned

The carpet had already been removed from the flat, but the family said further specialist cleaning was urgently needed.

Jenner explained that while clearing and cleaning the inside of the property was not normally part of their responsibility, they understood the difficult circumstances facing the family.

“We have been in touch with the next of kin to offer to arrange a specialist bio-clean of the flat on their behalf,” Jenner said.

However, the proposed specialist cleaning would have to be paid for by the next of kin.

Family Wants Someone to Take Responsibility

For Alison and Ray, having the property professionally cleaned is extremely important.

Alison said the family was not concerned about who carried out the work, as long as someone took responsibility and ensured the flat was properly cleaned.

“That’s all we really want from this — for somebody, whether it’s Citizen or the next of kin, to come down and sort it out and take responsibility,” she said.

“We don’t mind who does it, as long as somebody please does it for us.”

The family is now hoping that an agreement can be reached to ensure the property is cleaned and made safe.
