England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been charged by the Cricket Regulator over an alleged incident outside Ok

ay  a nightclub in Derby, but he r.emains.              eligible for selection by England.

Carse was arrested in the early hours of 23 August following an incident outside a Derby nightclub. He was later de-arrested, while Derbyshire Police subsequently closed its investigation into an alleged assault with no further action taken against the 31-year-old cricketer.

The Cricket Regulator confirmed on Friday that Carse has now been charged with breaching the England and Wales Cricket Board's (ECB) professional conduct regulations.

The case will now be considere d by the independent Cricket Discipline Panel.

Carse Can Still Play for England

Despite the charge, Carse remains available for England selection while the disciplinary process continues.

The ECB said it was aware of the regulator's decision and that Carse would have the opportunity to respond through the established process.

The governing body also indicated that it would not comment further while the case remains ongoing.

Carse has not played for England since the fifth Ashes Test in Sydney in January.

Following the Derby incident, he was left out of England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's. He has since continued playing county cricket for Durham.

England Selection Decisions Continue

Carse was also omitted from England's squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Pakistan.

His future involvement with the national team is understood to be assessed on a tour-by-tour basis while the disciplinary process continues.

The fast bowler currently has a two-year England central contract, which runs until autumn 2027.

The charge itself has not resulted in any change to his current contract.

Harry Brook Offers Support

England white-ball captain Harry Brook, who is a close friend of Carse, previously said the fast bowler needed some time away from the international environment.

Brook said he had spoken regularly with Carse and hoped he would eventually be ready to return to the England setup.

Carse is being supported by England during the regulatory process, although he will be responsible for responding to the charge himself.

England's Off-Field Concerns

The incident has added to a difficult period for England cricket, with the team facing renewed scrutiny over players' behaviour away from the field.

Test captain Joe Root previously expressed his frustration and reminded the squad of their responsibilities as England players.

White-ball coach Brendon McCullum also said Carse would need to address the situation before returning to the England team.

New Test coach Stephen Fleming has similarly stressed that representing England comes with certain standards and responsibilities.

Fleming said players are selected primarily for their performances, but added that their conduct and the responsibilities that come with representing England are also important.

For now, Carse remains eligible for England selection, but the outcome of the Cricket Discipline Panel's proceedings could play an important role in determining his future with the national team.
